A LANDMARK IN HINDU AMERICAN LIFE


The year 2020 will be a landmark in the history of the World Hindu Council of America (VHPA). Started in 1970 with the blessings of Ma. Guru M.S. Golwalkarji, this year the VHPA will be completing 50 years of selfless and dedicated service to the Hindu American community. The Swarna Jayanti (Golden Jubilee) event is being organized in September 2020 to mark this special occasion.




PURPOSE: The purpose of this event is five-fold:

To tell the story of VHPA’s journey and Hindu movement in North America

To express gratitude to all individuals and organizations who have contributed over the years to build this formidable organization

To celebrate its many achievements and rejoice in the company of all the members and well-wishers

To deliberate and realign the vision and the roadmap for the future and to guide the younger generation of Hindus to face the challenges of the future

To transition the leadership to the next generation of Hindus in the presence of elders as they shower their blessings for a bright and blissful future



OUTLINE: This gala event consist 4 major segments:

September 18, 2020 (Friday): Registration and Welcome

September 19, 2020 (Saturday)

Morning:

Celebration of 50 years of the Hindu movement and camaraderie in America

Afternoon:

Showcase 50 years of accomplishments, and outline the future vision

Evening:

Cultural program, recognitions, dinner September 20, 2020 (Sunday): Samuhik (collective) yagna in the presence of dharma gurus, prasad and adjournment
